Questions
Can I Get Edibles on DoorDash? Yes, Here's What to Know

Can You Get Edibles on DoorDash? Yes — Here's What's Allowed
Yes, you can get edibles on DoorDash, but there's an important legal distinction. DoorDash does not deliver marijuana-derived THC products from dispensaries. Instead, it partners with licensed retailers to offer hemp-derived THC and CBD edibles, gummies, beverages, and more. These products contain less than 0.3% Delta-9 THC by dry weight, making them legal under federal law. Here's how to understand what's available:
- Hemp-derived vs. marijuana-derived: DoorDash only delivers hemp-derived THC and CBD products. Marijuana-derived edibles from state-licensed dispensaries are not available on the platform.
- Product types: You can order gummies, drinks, tinctures, and topicals containing Delta-8 THC, Delta-9 THC (hemp-derived), or CBD.
- Age requirement: You must be 21 or older to order. DoorDash requires age verification at delivery.
- Availability: Delivery is available in select states, including New York, Georgia, Ohio, and others where hemp-derived products are legal.
- No dispensary weed: DoorDash does not deliver marijuana flower, pre-rolls, or concentrates from dispensaries. For those, you'll need a local dispensary's own delivery service.
Are DoorDash Edibles Safe and Legal? What to Know
DoorDash edibles are safe and legal when sourced from licensed retailers. Here's what to verify before ordering:
- Legal status: Hemp-derived THC and CBD products are legal under the 2018 Farm Bill. DoorDash only partners with licensed retailers complying with state and federal laws.
- Age verification: You must show a valid government-issued ID (driver's license, passport, or state ID) at delivery proving you're 21+. Out-of-state visitors with valid ID can also shop.
- Product labeling: Look for clear THC/CBD content, serving size, and ingredients. Reputable retailers provide third-party lab testing results.
- No-contact delivery: DoorDash offers no-contact delivery options. The driver will verify your ID from a distance.
- New York law: In New York, adults can possess up to 3 ounces of flower and 24 grams of concentrates per day. Hemp-derived edibles fall under different regulations but are legal for sale.
