Questions
Can You DoorDash Edibles? Yes, Here's What to Know
Yes, you can DoorDash edibles in many areas, including New York City. DoorDash delivers THC and CBD gummies, drinks, and candy from licensed retailers. However, for fastest and most reliable service in the Bronx, consider ordering directly from a local dispensary like BX Buddiez.
Can You DoorDash Edibles? Here's How It Works
Yes, you can order edibles on DoorDash in states where cannabis delivery is legal, including New York. DoorDash partners with licensed dispensaries to offer a range of edible products—from gummies and chocolates to drinks and baked goods—delivered straight to your door. The service works like any other DoorDash order: you browse the dispensary's menu, add items to your cart, and checkout. However, because cannabis is a regulated product, there are important steps and restrictions to know before you order.
- Check your location — DoorDash only allows cannabis delivery where it's legal. In New York, adult-use cannabis is legal, so you can order edibles from licensed dispensaries in eligible areas, including the Bronx.
- Find a licensed dispensary — Not all dispensaries are on DoorDash. Look for licensed retailers like BX Buddiez, a cannabis dispensary in the Bronx that offer delivery through the app. You can also order directly from the dispensary's website for pickup or delivery.
- Browse the edible menu — Filter by product type (gummies, chocolates, drinks, etc.), potency, or brand. Each product will list the THC content per serving, so you can choose what fits your experience level.
- Add to cart and checkout — Follow the same checkout process as any DoorDash order. You'll need to enter your delivery address and payment information.
- Verify your age at delivery — The driver will check your valid government-issued ID to confirm you're 21 or older. You must be present to receive the order—no leaving it at the door.
- Enjoy responsibly — Start with a low dose (like 5–10mg THC) and wait at least 2 hours before taking more. Edibles take longer to kick in than smoking.
DoorDash also offers CBD edibles and hemp-derived products in states where those are legal. But for THC edibles, the service is only available where cannabis is legalized for adult use. If you're unsure about the rules in your area, check with the dispensary or your local regulations.

Is DoorDash Edible Delivery Legal?
Yes, DoorDash edible delivery is legal in states where cannabis delivery is permitted. DoorDash operates in compliance with state laws, partnering only with licensed dispensaries. In New York, for example, licensed dispensaries can offer delivery, and DoorDash has launched cannabis home delivery in select markets.
The legal status depends on the type of product. Hemp-derived CBD edibles (with less than 0.3% THC) are federally legal and can be delivered in most states. THC edibles are only legal where recreational or medical cannabis is legalized. DoorDash's “Hemp market” allows CBD products, but THC products are restricted to legal states.
Always check your local laws and ensure the dispensary is licensed. For New York specifics, see our guide on edibles legality.
Are DoorDash Edibles Safe? What to Check Before You Order
Safety starts with the source. Here's what to check before ordering edibles on DoorDash:
- Licensed dispensary – Only order from dispensaries that display a valid state license. This ensures they follow strict regulations.
- Lab testing – Look for products with third-party lab test results. This confirms potency and checks for contaminants.
- Clear labeling – The package should show THC/CBD content, serving size, and ingredients. Avoid products with vague labels.
- Proper packaging – Edibles should be in child-resistant, tamper-evident packaging. If it looks opened, don't accept it.
- Dosage accuracy – Start with a low dose (5–10mg THC) if you're new. Check the label to know exactly how much you're taking.
For more on dosage, see our guide to 10mg edibles.
